What is SAP? The SAP, started in 1972 by five former employees of IBM in Mannheim, Germany, declares that it is the largest company of software of between firms of the world and the fourth-large supplier independent of the software of the world, total. The original name for the SAP was German: System, Anwendungen, Produkte, German for "applications and products of systems." The original idea of SAP was to get to customers to act one on the other with a data base of joint undertaking for a complete extent of the applications. Gradually, the applications were assembled and today many companies, including IBM and Microsoft, employ products of SAP to run their own companies. The applications of SAP, established around their last R/3 system, provide the possibilities to control financial, of the capital, and cost accounting, of the operations and materials of production, personnel, of the factories, and the filed documents. The R/3 system functions on a certain number of platforms including/understanding Windows 2000 and employs the model client/server.
