What is SAP? The SAP, started in 1972 by five former employees of IBM in Mannheim, Germany, declares that it is the largest company of software of between firms of the world and the fourth-large supplier independent of the software of the world, total. The original name for the SAP was German: System, Anwendungen, Produkte, German for "applications and products of systems."
